Introduction
Throughout the last fifteen years of We Are OH Studios, we’ve spent a lot of time working with music as a whole, from our humble beginnings with LAUNCH and Purple Door to the summers we spent in Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Maryland at Warped Tour. It has been and always will be one of the biggest things we’re passionate about as a company, and today we’re here to talk about exactly that.
From the start, our stance on music was always first and foremost the industry we thrived in and worked in up until COVID-19 happened in 2020; our focus never shifted away from the music scene and working with all of its aspects, but we did have a momentary lapse of time where we thought, “Well, that's it?” for music, and we’ve worked hard over the last five years since COVID happened to push our boundaries back into working in the music industry. Our first hurdle came in 2022 with LAUNCH Music Conference when we attended for the first time since 2019, and things just felt off for us, but eventually grew and grew in the wrong direction that initially we brushed off as a changing scene. However, that was not the case; fast forward to 2024, when we announced we were leaving the music scene altogether.
That wasn’t entirely our goal in 2024, to leave the music scene behind, but to speak upon the reason we felt compelled to leave it in the first place, LAUNCH Music Conference is home to us; we built this company AROUND that event happening and working with 200+ musicians, bands, and record labels since our first introduction to it in 2009, but as things grew on, we knew a break of some sort for We Are OH Music would happen, and that it did. Last May we turned the lights off on the stage for the last time and put We Are OH Music into hiatus because we knew that if we wanted to work in the music industry and scene again, we’d have to strike back with vengeance, and today that is exactly what we’re doing.
What’s Next?
As noted in our 2025 outlook, we announced that we would NOT be returning to LAUNCH Music Conference this year. However, that is not the case anymore. We're looking to grow as a company, and growing means moving forward and leaving things behind that we've held close, and LAUNCH is the platform and event we grew up on and thrived working at.
So in 2025 we'll be returning to LAUNCH Music Conference this April to work with musicians and bands to promote, produce, and create lasting memories and to build upon our long legacy that Circus Circus built for us. With We Are OH Music relaunching also means we'll be actively working with more and more independent artists to do what we sought out to do in 2010 and release music, promote shows, and effectively be a record label without any strings attached.
Our legacy as a company started in music, and we'll continue working in music.
